It's been forevs since I last updated, and what better way to start than by discussing my favorites from the recent Fall/Winter showings!

Ultimate Love:
Lanvin. I watched the entire show via Youtubey and I just love the vibe, cuts, color palette, the draping, and the music (Hello brief Florence + The Machine moment). The wigs gave me inspiration. I'm really becoming a huge Lanvin fan and I feel that Alber Elbaz is fantasmic. I aspire to be as chic and talented as him one day.
Other Loves:
Alice + Olivia - It was an 80s party-like collection with a smattering of art-type garments. We all need a little fun during the winter months.
Dries Van Noten - I loved the retro cuts and updated Autumn prints like the one featured in this dress. I thought it was very sophisticated.
Monique Lhuillier - I love the edge. The clothes had a romantic tone but the edge was pumped up. This garment was by far my favorite. I loved the rose-like "Print" that was stylized towards an almost goth-like way. It was a fierce collection.
Phillip Lim - I've always been a fan and this garment caught my eye. Everyone is taking the "Tail Coat" and adding a new twist to it. I love sheer and this was my favorite look involving the new trend.
Side Note: Everyone else noticing this model is on every runway lately? I noticed Doutzen when she was taking off and this one is right on that path. I need to look her up sometime, she's got a great look about her.
Vionnet - A GORGEOUS collection! I'm just waiting for when we'll see Vionnet on the runway. I know it would be a contradiction to her original philosophy (She was not one for "Trends" or the "Fashion Monster" since she walked to her own beat), but it would be nice to see collections like these on the runway.
Vivienne Westwood - I love this crazy ginger. Her runway presentations are just fantastic and the details that you can find when you analyze her work are delicious. This coat reminds me almost of a flower in the way the ruffling and draping create a petal-like effect.
Menswear Love:
Todd Lynn - Fashion armor. Not an entirely new concept, but one I thoroughly enjoyed looking at.
